This is the home page of the Buchanan Bridge Club.

The Club runs tournaments on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday evenings.  Play starts at 7.15pm.

Club competitions are also held on Tuesday evenings.

The Club runs qualifying  heats of District and National events as well as District and National competitions.
New Web Site Features

We have now introduced some exiting new features to the club’s web site.

First of all we have two Blogs (Web logs).   See the link above. These are designed to keep all members in touch with what is happening in the club.  In the first Blog (the President’s Blog) Liz will be writing regular articles on the various aspects of her work as President of the club.

The second Blog (the Match and Tournament Committee Blog) will have a series of articles on the organisation of bridge in the club

Do keep checking these blogs to keep up to date, and don’t forget to let us have your views on the articles and any topics which you think we should cover in the future.

The next feature we have added is a club forum.   Here you can join in discussions and make suggestions on any aspect of the club.  You can find a partner, use an on-line version of the suggestions book or discuss any aspect of bridge.   Don’t forget, you’ll need to register with the forum (just click the “Register” link on the forum page) to post your comments and views.


Finally we are working on a new page to let you enter club competitions on the web site.  Keep checking the site for news on this development.

Two New Tournaments
The committee hope that members will be able to support one or both of these new tournaments.

TUESDAY  EVENING  NO FEAR  TOURNAMENT
  • This will start on Tuesday 26th May and will be held weekly.
  • It is open to full members (except those who are Division 1 or 2 players or equivalent), associate members and temporary members.
  • There will be pre-dealt boards and accompanying handouts.
  • Between 20 and 24 boards will be played, and it will be an aggregate competition.
  • There will be a stand-by, so you may come without your partner.
  • Play will start by 7.15pm and table money will be £3.50.
  • Prizes will be tokens for a free game on a subsequent Tuesday.
  • SBU master points will be awarded.
WEDNESDAY  MORNING  NO FEAR  TOURNAMENT
  • This will start on Wednesday 27th May and will run each Wednesday until the end of August.
  • It is open to full members (except those who are 1st or 2nd Division players or equivalent), associate members and temporary members.
  • It will be an aggregate tournament with between 16 and 20 boards.
  • Play will start at 10am and will finish around 12.30pm.  Please note parking restrictions apply during the day.
  • Table money will be £3.50 (including tea / coffee) and prizes will be tokens for a free game on a subsequent Wednesday.
  • There will be no stand-by so you will need to come with a partner.
  • SBU master points will not be issued.
